RMH has named Timothy “Shawn” Craddock as director of Perioperative Services at RMH.
Craddock has more than 13 years of nursing leadership experience. Before joining RMH, he served as director of Nursing, Surgical Services at Novant Health Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, Va. for four years. Before that he was a clinical practice specialist, Surgical Services for Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg for four and a half years.
A U.S. Army veteran, Craddock served for 8 years, 5 in active duty. He was an Air Defense Artillery Officer working in a PATRIOT missile battery before transferring to the Army Nurse Corp. He served in Baghdad, Iraq for seven months with the 31st Combat Support Hospital as an operating room nurse.
“Shawn's experience as a clinician and leader will be an asset to RMH,” said Donna Hahn, vice president, Acute Care Services, and chief nursing officer. “He has accomplished a great deal in his career and we look forward to what he will bring to RMH’s surgical services and treatment center. Shawn's personality and teamwork style fit well with the RMH culture. I am very pleased he has chosen RMH.”
Craddock holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Radford University. He received a U.S. Army commission from Virginia Tech in 1998.
He has received numerous military and non-military awards, has been published in a number of nursing journals, and has presented and instructed numerous seminars and training sessions. He has been active in various community outreach activities, including serving as a volunteer for the Loudoun Free Clinic, providing medical support for Montwood Middle School Athletics, volunteering and instructing first aid for the Boy Scouts of America, and participating in various public school career fairs.
